A dramatic video has emerged from China capturing the moment a driver had a collision with a wild boar on a country road in Jiangsu Province earlier this month.

In the footage, captured on a dashboard mounted camera in Zhenjiang City, the large boar can be seen running out in front of the car shortly before a loud bang is heard.

According to the driver, he was heading on a shopping trip with his wife and travelling at around 80 kilometres per hour when the collision occurred.

Fortunately, neither the driver nor his wife were injured in the accident - which left the car’s bumper and headlights in need of repair.

The wild boar was killed by the impact of the crash.
