The tallest Christmas tree in Southeast Asia opened in Bangkok, Thailand, on November 25.

Hundreds of locals flocked to take selfies at the 115ft (35 metre) tall artificial tree, which has been installed outside the CentralWorld shopping mall.

It is decorated with red baubles, gold ribbons and bronze fairy lights. Even the tropical palm trees have been wrapped in Christmas lights.

The display also includes an inflatable Santa, an ice-themed happiness tunnel, illuminated snowflakes and giant LCD display playing winter scenes.

Organisers will keep the display open every night until January 6.
