This footage was filmed and produced 15 December 2020.
Thousands of individuals and entrepreneurs are protesting against the introduction of cash registers and demanding the lifting of the ban on entrepreneurial activity while introducing strict quarantine restrictions. Clashes with the police began because protesters wanted to pitch tents on the Maidan in Kiev, Ukraine.
This footage shows protester that felt bad after being pushed and breathing in the tear gas. The interview with eyewitnesses starts on 2:32. The translation:
"- Tell me, please, what happened here just half an hour ago? It was a protest crackdown, right? Did you attend?
- Yes, they scattered us with tear gas bombs.
- What were the police doing?
- Stole the tents, the police stole the tents, dispersed people, started throwing smoke grenades, that's all.
- How long did it take?
- (5-10 minutes, maybe more).
- Something like that. How many, two or three grenades they threw, in my opinion, well, two for sure.
- (About six).
- I remember at least two.
- Was it the police who threw it?
- Well, of course, not us.
- (People threw back bottles of water, plastic bottles).
- But people came back right away, right?
- Well, they didn't leave, we are still standing here.
- Well, and no one is going to leave yet? What are the plans?
- The plan is to stand.
- (They say backup will arrive soon).
- Now those [police officers] will go up, they will just squeeze us out of here, here is our plan. And this is the whole truth that is happening in Ukraine. That's the whole truth".
