This is the amazing moment a giant Gundam robot moved its arms up and down in Japan.

The RX-78-2 replica Gundam robot was built at a pier in Yokohama port, towering over the other structures at 60ft-tall. It is by far the most true-to-the size Gundam robot ever made since the series premiered.

The enormous Gundam opened for public view at Yamashita Pier of Yokohama Port on December 19. The 18-meter-high and 25-tonne exhibition will remain open until March 2022.
Nagano Nozomi, who visited the tourist attraction, said: "I can't explain my emotions, it's like I am reliving my childhood memories. The robot is right in front of me."

The movable robot is the highlight of the Gundam Factory Yokohama project, which has been put together with several different groups.

Gundam is part of an anime franchise created by Yoshiyuki Tomino.

According to data from Business Wire, the Gundam franchise had amassed more than five billion dollars in global sales by the year 2000.

By 2018, Gundam - also known as Gunpla - had become of one of the top 15 highest-grossing media franchises of all time with more than 20 billion dollars in total revenue.

The creation is owned by Bandai Namco Holdings.
