Curious Chinese teenager becomes stuck after licking pole during -16C temperatures
A curious teenager got his tongue stuck on a steel pole after licking it at the temperatures of -16 degrees Celsius struck eastern China.
The CCTV video, filmed in the city of Zaozhuang in Shandong Province on January 7, shows a 15-year-old barbershop apprentice walking to a steel pole on the side of a road and licking it.
However, he then got his tongue stuck on the steel pole and took his phone out to call for help.
Since the boy could not speak properly, his colleague hung up.
A shop owner spotted the boy and took a cup of warm water out to pour onto the boy's tongue. Finally, the boy's tongue was freed.
According to reports, the boy heard that his tongue would get stuck on a steel pole, so he wanted to try and see whether it was true.
The video was provided by local media with permission.
