Residents in parts of south London woke up on Friday (January 29) to find discoloured water running through their taps for the second day in a row.

Footage shows Wimbledon resident @NahianK demonstrating how his tap water has a hint of brown running through it.

Concerned residents from Tooting, Wimbledon, Croydon, Mitcham and New Malden reported the same issue.

Filmer Nahian told Newsflare: "Thames Water updated and apologised for the inconvenience and bottled water is being supplied at a water station setup in Colliers Wood retail park. Residents who are vulnerable are being asked to contact Thames water directly and neighbours to help one another out during these difficult times."

Thames Water has apologised and said "discolouration was caused by maintenance work, which disturbed some naturally occurring sediments within the pipes. We’re very sorry for the inconvenience this may have caused you.

"Although drinking this water should be harmless, we know it looks unpleasant and wouldn’t expect people to drink it until it’s clear again – which we’ll achieve as quickly as possible."
