Thief runs off with case of gold jewellery in Indian daylight robbery
A robber in Mumbai snatched a case of gold pendants from a jewellery store in broad daylight, after distracting the shopkeeper and sprinting off with the case.
The incident took place around 2:00pm on February 4, at Padmavati Jewelers located in Bharat Bhushan Building, when shop owner Chetan Khicha, 37, was alone.
The robber asked to see some gold pendants for bridal jewellery, and the shopkeeper showed him some designs of gold pendants in a box.
The robber then asked to see some other designs, and while the shop owner turned to remove the second box, the robber grabbed the box full of pendants and fled. The owner chased the accused but he escaped.
The box is worth an estimated £2,480.86 GBP. The police registered a case under sections 380 and 34 of the IPC.
