A hero bus driver foiled robbers' attempt to flee with snatched gold earrings in India.

The alleged thief was captured on CCTV standing beside the rickshaw where he reportedly posed as a customer, paid, and grabbed another passenger's jewellery before running towards his accomplice, who was waiting for him on the roadside in Haryana.

Footage shows the two men, who reportedly tried to steal the gold from a woman, trying to flee together on a motorcycle on May 29.

However, a bus came reversing in their direction as they tried to ride away. The two-wheeler toppled over, and the two men fell onto the ground when the vehicle hit it with the rear bumper.

A spokesman from the investigating police station said: ‘We have seized the motorbike and are currently analysing the CCTV footage to aid our investigation.'

The two thieves abandoned the two-wheeler, left the scene, and are currently being hunted by police.
