This family of pet lovers care for over 30 dogs in Visakhapatnam, southern India.

Satyanarayana and his family currently look after 33 dogs after 50 died of old age and from illnesses.

His wife Bhagyalakshmi and children are in charge of serving the dogs food, they boil 15 kilograms of rice each day for the animals.

They also feed another 20 stray dogs roaming the streets each day.

The family have explained that they are having to sell their possessions in order to keep paying for the dogs' treatment.

Satyanarayana retired after working in the port colony of Visakhapatnam. As he had a job in the port, he was allotted a port quarters flat in Saligrampuram.

The family has three children all are pet lover and likes dogs. If any injured dogs are found on the road, he used bring them home and put them on medication and provide food. His wife Bhagyalakshmi, children Vijayalakshmi and Padmavati Bhargavi are also in the habit of serving them. So their family had to raise 83 dogs. While 50 dogs died of old age and illness, there are now 33 left. However, Satyanarayana's retired a few years ago, and the family members took responsibility for caretakers.

In it, Bargavi looks at them like children. While sister Padmavati works to support them, another sister Vijayalakshmi cooks for them. They are raised by family members. Beds, tables, chairs and a divan were arranged for them to stay with them at home.

Every day 15 kg of rice is boiled and put in them. Meals are served with dole rice, curd rice, eggs, chicken etc and other 20 dogs on the street are being fed every day. Bargavi says that not a single rupee has been given to anyone who is in financial trouble. We have sold gold and ear patches for vaccine operations drugs and now nutrition is becoming difficult due to financial difficulties.
