A comedian has spent £70,000 ($100,000) eating fine dining cuisine from restaurants for every single meal - since the start of the pandemic.

Joel Haas, 52, was inspired to start treating himself to luxury meals more regularly after hearing loss put his music career in jeopardy.

But when COVID hit, he decided to double down and help keep the industry he loves alive by eating the likes of caviar and wagu beef for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Joel, from Brookland in Washington DC, USA said: "I got really concerned I was going to lose my favourite places and I didn't know how to support them so I started ordering takeout and it kept going.

"I don't think there's anyone in the world who's eaten better than me over the past year and a half.

"In the last week I've had two courses from two different restaurants with gold leaf!"
