A man used 1,200 Rubik's Cubes to form a portrait in tribute to China's "father of hybrid rice."

The cool video filmed in the city of Xinxiang in Henan Province on September 7 shows a man named Wang Junpeng using over a thousand Rubik's Cubes to form the portrait of Yuan Longping who is known as the "father of hybrid rice."

Wang is a Rubik's Cube teacher who spent two days designing and one day forming Yuan Longping's portrait out of the devices.

Yuan Longping was a Chinese agronomist who was known for developing the first hybrid rice varieties in the 1970s and was given the "father of hybrid rice" name.

Yuan passed away in May this year and it was Yuan's birthday on Tuesday (September 7), so Wang formed the portrait in memory of him.

9月7日是袁隆平先生的生日，大家都自发地用自己的方式缅怀着袁老，来自河南新乡的魔方爱好者王俊鹏就是其中一位。王俊鹏花费了三四天时间，共用1200块魔方完成了袁老的肖像画。在作品完成的那一刻，他心情沉重、感慨万千，称袁老这一生兢兢业业，他才应该是这几代人真正需要去追的星。
据王俊鹏说，用魔方拼图是一次偶然的机会，在网上看到一些外国魔方牛人用魔方作画，就也想试一试。拼图前期需要设计好一个图，去做这个作品的时候，人物亮的地方是有白色到黄色一个过度，中间是由橙色红色过度，他的头发眼睛的一些暗部是用蓝色的，说白了就是完全利用魔方的5种颜色来拼图。（视频由王俊鹏本人提供）
