'To hell with Shell!' - South African activists protest against global oil giant
Activists in South Africa have protested against sonic blasting which oil giant Shell will be doing on the coast of South Africa.
The footage shot on Sunday (December 5) at Muizenberg Beach in Cape Town shows demonstrators shouting slogans and holding up banners. A large fish and whale puppet were paraded on the beachfront while activists shouted “To hell with Shell”.
The protesters argue that the blasting is detrimental to sea life and will affect communication and migration.
Last Friday, the activists lost a court battle to interdict the oil giant. They will however be making another attempt on December 14.
