A mother cow was rescued after falling into a pond in Thailand.

Farmer Preecha took the two-year-old cow named Kaew to graze on the grass near the pond in Nong Bua Lamphu province on January 4. However, the animal then slipped on the wet ground and fell into the pond.

Preecha called the local rescue team after trying and failing to rescue the 450kg cow by himself.

Staff found that the pond’s banks were steep, making the rescue more difficult. They guided the stranded animal to a more shallow spot before dragging it up.

The seven team members and Preecha managed to haul the cow to safety using a rope.

Preecha said: ‘The grass around my property is dry, so I had to bring my cow here. I did not expect this to happen. I’m glad she is safe.’
