A new hotel with rooms that look directly onto a tiger enclosure is causing a heated debate in China.

Footage filmed in the city of Nantong in Jiangsu Province on January 19 shows the view from one of the rooms at Sendi Tribe Treehouse Hotel as a tiger paces back and forth past in front of a window made from bombproof glass.

According to hotel staff, there are four rooms from which guests can view the big cats directly from their rooms although they are yet to open the public.

The new hotel has attracted criticism online.

“Has anyone asked about the tigers’ feelings? Can they get more food after the hotel earns more money?” one person commented.

The video was provided by local media with permission.
