This is the terrifying moment a mother from Uzbekistan dropped her three-year-old daughter into the bear enclosure at a zoo in the capital.

Security camera footage captured on January 29 at Tashkent Zoo shows the woman holding her child over the railings before dropping the little girl into the enclosure.

According to reports, the brown bear sniffed the child after she landed in a trench inside the animal's artificial habitat and then walked away.

Zookeepers quickly lured the bear inside and rescued the girl. She was examined by a zoo nurse who reported that she only suffered bruises.

The zoo said that other people and zoo staff tried to stop the visitor, but she still threw the child over a metal fence. The bear only sniffed the girl and walked away, as a result, she suffered only from a fall from a height of 5 m.
