In a unique capture, this clip shows the International Space Station seen flying just above the moon while an aircraft flies in the opposite direction.

The incredible footage filmed on February 5 was captured in 4K, handheld and without stabilisation but you can clearly see the ISS flying from right to left and the plane coming in from the left.

ISS, the International Space Station , is seen flying from right to left and just above the crescent Moon ( note the earthshine ) , while just at the same time, an airplane flies in the opposite direction.

If I had driven a few dozen miles further northeast then ISS would have actually transited right in front of the Moon.

The ISS is very large and shines very bright when sunlit at nightfall after dusk or at pre-dawn. Here it was shining at mag. -2.4 , brighter than planet Jupiter currently.

Shot this as a test with a new-old gear setup. Camera new Canon EOS R6 mirrorless with IBIS. But lens : Old used Canon EF 100-300 F4.5-5.6 USM , no IS . However I used IBIS and video digital IS , but it still didn't stabilize it nonetheless. Why ? Instead of the normal Canon EF-RF adapter , I used a Viltrox EF-R3 0.71 speedbooster. Used the lens at 100mm , so it got 71mm focal length ( in full sensor, with vignetting ) but instead of F4.5 I got it down to F3.2 , so with lower ISO there is less noise... HOWEVER it seems that IBIS and video digital IS work great on that lens only when used with the normal EF-RF adapter, or when used with the Viltrox speedbooster it still works well when at high end of zoom position up to 300mm, then the stabilisation is excellent. But shooting at the lower end, 100mm , with the speedbooster, the IBIS and digital IS have no effect. Good to know for next time.
