This is the adorable moment a mother elephant and her baby walked together across a golf course in Thailand.

Video shows the two wild animals taking a stroll side by side in Nakhon Nayok province on March 10. The mother elephant was seen taking long, slow strides while her calf toddled along next to her on the freshly-cut green.

Onlooker Badin Chanseekam said: 'The baby elephant was born only three days before. It's beautiful how the mother elephant is walking her baby around.'

Elephants are the national animal of Thailand, where killing them carries a maximum prison term of up to three years and a fine of 1,000 baht (25GBP).

An estimated 2,000 elephants are living in the wild and a similar number in captivity. In the wild, they roam through the deep jungle and in the country’s protected national parks, but often encounter humans on roads and in villages.
