Bizarre video shows man using VACUUM to extend shelf-life of vegetables during latest China lockdown
This is the bizarre moment a resident in northern China used a vacuum cleaner to suck the air out of bags storing vegetables during the country's latest lockdown.
Video filmed in the city of Changchun in Jilin Province on March 26 shows a man squatting on the ground to vacuum the air out of a plastic bag, inside which is various vegetables.
According to the man's wife, Ms Guo, the building they lived in was under a COVID-19-related lockdown, so she and her husband rushed to buy some vegetables online and stored them at home.
Since they wanted to keep the vegetables for a long time, they used a vacuum cleaner to suck the oxygen out of the plastic bags used to pack the vegetables, extending their shelf-life.
The video was provided by local media with permission.
