A terrified husband was shocked after going to the toilet and seeing a huge PYTHON rearing up at him.

The resident woke up in the night to visit the bathroom when he heard noises and saw the reptile poking its head out of the u-bend in Trang, Thailand on April 6.

He shrieked in horror as the startled python leapt towards him as he quickly slammed the door shut. The snake was still hanging around the next morning so the man called the emergency services, fearing that his family could be harmed.

Animal handlers flushed the toilet dozens of times until 30 minutes later the python popped its head up from the water surface.

Delighted rescue volunteers quickly dragged the 4ft-long snake out from the toilet with their hands and took it outside. The python was then placed in a plastic container to be released back into the wild.

Volunteer Chokchai Phraetanaruang said: ‘The homeowner told us he found the snake after hearing objects falling inside the toilet. He checked after an hour but the snake was nowhere to be found, so he assumed it had already left through the window.’

‘However, the python showed up in the toilet the next morning so he called us. Luckily it did not hide in his bed, otherwise, the outcome might have been very different.’
