TikTok doctor reveals breast implants can cause RARE CANCER and leave breasts looking like ‘Snoopy’s nose'
A TikTok doctor has revealed that a type of breast implant can put you at risk of a rare cancer.
Dr Anthony Youn, 48, from Detroit, US, shares his experience and knowledge with his 7.6 million followers on the app.
In a recent video, he shares a clip of a patient’s breasts and explains that the textured implants she had were putting her at risk of developing anaplastic large cell lymphoma (ALCL) – a rare cancer.
She had had the implants put in six years ago by a different surgeon and came to Dr Youn for help.
In the video, Dr Youn diagnoses her with a 'Snoopy deformity', which is when the implant sits too high and tissue drops, resembling cartoon character Snoopy's nose.
He then removed the textured implants and explained that some of these implants – which can lead to ALCL – have even been recalled.
After removing the implants, Dr Youn also removed all the scar tissue surrounding the implants to further reduce the risk of ALCL, as well as performing a revision of her breast lift, in which he shows a photo to the viewers.
The doctor then shows a photo of the breasts seven weeks later, finishing his video by saying to the camera: "She's no longer worried about ALCL and her Snoopy deformity is gone."
He uploaded the video to his TikTok (@tonyyounmd), which has racked up over 303,000 views and 26,000 likes.
