'The dedication': Influencer reveals how she gets the perfect shot – creating FAKE beach scene for Instagram snaps Part One
A TikTok star has gone viral after revealing how she gets the perfect shot – by creating a fake beach scene for Instagram snaps.
Kendall Kiper, 20, from Atlanta, Georgia, works as a full-time content creator and is hired to create adverts to post on Instagram from brands – something which requires getting rather creative.
For a recent ad, she decided to do a beach shoot, but her plan had one snag: she doesn’t live near a ready-made tropical backdrop.
Instead, she decided to get thrifty and purchased six bags of sand for $45 – an investment she describes as “more than worth it” in exchange for the perfect sunny shot.
Taking to TikTok to share her plan, she shared a glimpse of her “Instagram vs reality”.
She shows the images of her reclining in a bikini on a towel, before sharing that she lives in the countryside with no beach – and how she had created the illusion herself.
The video, which received over 8.9 million views and two million likes, left viewers stunned.
One user commented: “This is the biggest slay of the year.”
“The dedication to the content,” another viewer said.
Another user wrote: “And they say Instagram isn’t a job OK.”
“And they say content creators aren’t creative,” someone else agreed.
One user wrote: “IM HOLLERING OMG FOR THE CONTENT.” [sic]
“I understand the struggle I love u for this,” added someone else.
Another person said: "Just you admitting to the ‘beach’ one makes you so likable.” [sic]
The content creator was blown away by the comments, receiving a lot of praise for her honesty.
Kendall said: "Inspiring others is all I have ever wanted to do, it feels like a dream come true having this happen especially after I've felt like giving up so much within the past year.
"I have had a good amount of hate comments as well, mainly people telling me it's 'sad' or that I am 'creating a false reality' – I don't agree with either of those.
"I remember being 13 and on social media, I would have been spared so much self-hatred growing up if somebody had shown me that not everything is as glamorous as it looks.
"Now that I am in a position where young girls look up to me, I want them to know that."
Kendall, who is also an artist and draws tattoos, has made plenty of other creative scenes.
In one paid advertisement she bought a paddling pool for a photo which cost her $70, in another she used an app to layer a photo of a field of flowers onto the original photo.
She added: "It sounds complicated but is actually pretty easy."
Kendall uses her mum and her tripod to take most of her photos, with her mum coming up with ideas herself – including the “beach” shot.
Kendall also gets a lot of mixed reactions from passersby and people online.
She added: "Some people stare, others honk, some yell mean things and some don't even look. It really just depends on the day I guess.
"When people are rude about it, I just remember how lucky I am to do this. I won't let people I don't even know stop me from doing what I love, for fun or for business."
