With most of the UK's supply of sunflower oil normally coming from Ukraine, supermarkets across the country are having to increase prices and ration sales.

Flour -- something else war-torn Ukraine was once a major producer of -- is also seeing shortages and price hikes.

The shortages are not just hitting high-street consumers either. Business owners shopping at the Booker 'cash-and-carry' wholesale store in Tottenham, north London, were restricted to just three units of catering oil, two units of retail cooking oil and ten 16-kilogram bags of flour per day on Saturday 23 April.

Other limitations Booker has placed on customers due to supply chain issues include: pet food, isotonic drinks and Haribo brand sweets.
