Bangkok election posters lined roads as the candidates' advertising spending soared.
Bangkok governor hopefuls have reportedly spent millions of dollars on advertising in recent months to capture the public’s attention as the election nears, reports show.
Hundreds of posters can now be seen lining roads, alleys and pavements as locals prepare to go to the polls on May 22.
Other than the conventional giant banners, candidates have also started making TikToks and Instagram stories targeting young voters.
According to Pawat Ruangdejworachai chief executive of Media Intelligence, candidates' spendings on advertising is expected to increase by 10.7 per cent from 76,165 million THB (2.21 million USD) in 2021 to 84,290 million THB (2.45 million USD) in 2022.
