Residents LOCKED INTO their homes by pandemic officials in northern China
Residents in Qian'an, Hebei Province, are being locked into their homes by pandemic officials.
Video filmed on April 26 shows pandemic workers installing iron wires to lock residents' doors, forcing them to stay indoors.
According to reports, some workers asked the residents to insert their keys on the doors outside their flats so the volunteers could lock their doors.
If they did not do that, their doors would be locked shut by the iron wires.
Qian'an Pandemic Prevention and Control Office announced that they were investigating the case and they were planning to replace the iron wires with alarms.
Some residents have taken to social media to voice their concerns, with one netizen questioning how will they leave their home if they need to go to the hospital.
Another said: "Having COVID-19 is not a crime."
The video was provided by local media with permission.
