A heavy metal door collapsed onto two little girls and a dog after it fell reportedly due to loose screws.

The girls and a young boy were playing at a courtyard in Kaifeng City, Henan province in China on May 5. They were opening the gate when one of the doors came loose at the hinges and fell on them.

The two girls were pinned to the ground, but luckily the boy escaped and ran to his mum to call for help. One of the the trapped children managed to crawl out from underneath and tried lifting the gate, but failed due to its heavy weight.

A neighbour passing by rushed to the girl's aid, pushing the heavy object off the stricken child and carrying her to safety.

Ms. Li, the boy's mother, said: 'The door had a loose screw which caused the accident. The girls are fine after receiving a checkup.'
