Food artist uses cabbage to create sensational stop-motion dance animation
A food artist based in southwestern China used cabbage to create a sensational stop-motion animation of a dancer.
A cool video filmed in the city of Kunming in Yunnan Province on April 15 shows a person carved out of a piece of Chinese cabbage dancing to some folk music.
The man named Zhao Xiaoze studied landscape design. He once saw the flipbook animation and it intrigued him so he learnt stop-motion by himself.
His production of a dancing cabbage person was inspired by vegetables swinging in the wind in his yard.
Zhao said only two pieces of cabbage were needed to make one stop-motion video.
He also said: "Our country has so many ethnic minorities and their music and dances are all very interesting. I wanted to use this to let more people know and understand the folk dance."
Zhao will also try to make stop-motion of martial arts and kung fu in the future.
The video was provided by local media with permission.
