Online shopper shocked after delivery driver chucks $1,100 worth of electronics over fence
An online shopper was left shocked when a delivery driver lobbed their £646 Playstation 5 and £329 Dyson Fan over their 6-foot fence.
The DPD worker chucked them in the customer’s garden despite the fact he was in.
The woman didn’t ring the front doorbell or open the back gate that they had requested in their delivery instructions.
She was captured on the homeowner’s CCTV and then she tried to explain herself saying she didn’t know what was in the boxes.
But the fan came with no outer packaging so it was clear what was in it.
The buyer said that the trendy fan was damaged but luckily the PS5 wasn’t from the order from Currys, a British electronic retailer.
He also ordered other games and PS5 goods taking the total amount to over £1,000 with next-day delivery.
The man, 30s of Lincolnshire, UK - who doesn’t want to be named - said: “I honestly have no idea why she did it.
“I was in my kitchen waiting for the delivery and the first I knew about it was the thud of the PS5 hitting the ground.”
“It’s quite hard getting hold of a PS5. But I finally was able to order one.
“I was off work and keeping eye on the tracking of my parcel on my phone.
“She didn’t ring at the front door and our delivery instructions are that the back gate is unlocked if we are not it.”
The unnamed customer added: “£1,015 ($1,240) the total order.
“You don't drop £1,000 of electrical goods over a 6-foot fence full stop, never mind without checking if the person is in
“This is my back gate. She didn't try the front door. Just walked around and dropped over.
But he said he is demanding answers from DPD because of the way he was treated and posted the videos on TikTok after giving it a week to reply.
He said they only responded when his video got over one million views.
The customer has now racked up over 13 million views.
He called the first one: “Cheers for that Karen, not yours to break were they.
“And DPS don't care.”
They added: “Just launched a £350 fan and my new PS5 over my gate.
“Didn't even try the doorbell.”
The shopper then added the second called “Part two of the delivery - she shrugged.”
They added: “I caught her and her reply was, ‘well I don’t know what's in the boxes,' and she shrugged.”
In the video the female delivery driver said: “I don’t know what's in what you see.
“I just go by what he tells me to do on here.”
A DPD spokesperson: "The behaviour of our driver here is completely unacceptable.
“We are carrying out a full investigation and will always take firm action where the behaviour of our people falls below the high standards we expect."
