CCTV captured the terrifying moment an Indian school bus tried to rush through closing gates at a railway crossing, only to crash into them and get stuck on the line as a train approached on 1 August.

The incident in Greater Noida put the lives around 40 schoolchildren at risk, but for quick-thinking railway staff, who opened the gate on the other side of the track so the bus could escape danger.

According to reports, the MC Gopichand was going to a school on Monday morning but due to delays, driver Ayaram started going fast.

When he reached the Maripat railway station gate he tried to rush ahead of the closing gate -- ignoring signals by railway staff there to stop -- but hit it and stopped.

Then, while he was the middle of the train line the gate came down on the far side of the track too.

However, before the arrival of the train, the railway employees opened the gate on the other side and averted a major tragedy.

A major accident was averted on the railway track in Greater Noida. The bus passing through the railway track collided with the railway gate due to the negligence of the driver. Fortunately, the gate on the other side was opened quickly, due to which the bus crossed the railway track before the train arrived. Because of this, a major accident was averted. During this, about 40 innocent children were aboard the bus.

According to the information received, the MC Gopichand school bus in which 40 children were on board was going to school on Monday morning. Due to delays in school timings, driver Ayaram started driving the bus at high speed. Meanwhile, when he reached near the Maripat railway station gate of Greater Noida, the railway gate was closing, but the driver stopped on the railway track after increasing the speed and hitting the gate.

During this, the railway employees present at the gate had also signalled to stop the bus driver, but the bus driver did not stop. On the other hand, due to the closure of the gate on the other side, the bus got stuck on the middle railway track. However, before the arrival of the train, the railway employees opened the gate on the other side, due to which the bus crossed the track in time and a major accident was averted.
