A ‘mischievous' dog pretended to guard his injured friend on a roadside in Thailand.

Footage shows the brown stray pooch licking a black dog lying on the concrete ground in Sukhothai province, Thailand on August 5.

However, when a driver pulled over to check on them, the duo stood up as if nothing had happened.

The amused driver said: ‘I thought the dog was hit by a car. I even took a big u-turn to check up on the dog. I was speechless when I found that both of them were alright. What a mischievous pooch.'

The driver slowed down his car upon seeing to help the creatures but as he approached the dogs, they rose from the ground unhurt.

He laughed and gave the dogs some snacks before returning on his way.
