A village of some 3,000 people in Chattisgarh’s Raipur has been thrown onto the map courtesy of its social media savvy residents who have made it a ‘YouTubers’ hub’. With about 40 YouTube channels, the village of Tulsi has learned the art of making serious money via videos, more than the traditional professions around the offer.

It’s not an idle dream either and of the 3,000 residents in this village, around a thousand are successful YouTubers, the oldest being an 85-year-old grandmother and the youngest a 15-year-old boy.

The report suggests that the culture of creating YouTube videos in the village has a decade-old history. Villagers got inspired by the journey of two youths, who left their jobs and started their respective YouTube careers.
