Stephanie Dinsdale's attempt at cutting her own fringe left her looking like Will from 'Stranger Things'
A woman getting ready for a first date left herself looking like Will from Stranger Things after her attempt at a DIY haircut went horribly wrong.
Stephanie Dinsdale was nervous leading up to her night out and in a bid to feel more confident she decided her shaggy mullet needed a trim.
Hilarious footage - viewed more than 16million times - shows the 25-year-old’s panicked reaction when she realised that while trimming her fringe she had her eyebrows raised the whole time.
After lowering her eyebrows, fashion photographer Stephanie screamed as she was left with ultra-short bangs leaving her forehead almost completely uncovered.
Stephanie, from Montreal, Quebec, said: “My reaction was so genuine. It was the video I had sent to my friends where I started panicking.
“I was freaking out because I had a date that night. It went onto TikTok and put my reaction on there because I thought it was so very sad but I just started laughing it off.
“I just thought my hair looked terrible. People compared it to Will from Stranger Things mixed with Winona Ryder from Beetlejuice.
“Both iconic characters and movies so to be honest I’m not upset at those comparisons. If I have to look like someone, I’m glad it's those two.
“I was nervous for my first date so I decided to make sure I looked my best to make myself feel good and confident.
“I was honestly just going trying to trim it. My hair was in a very shaggy mullet that I had spent months growing out after I shaved my head in the fall.
“My intention was to clean it up. But that went terribly wrong.
“While cutting my hair I was kind of leaning in close to the mirror and had my eyebrows raised.
“I was proud of my look and thought I did a great job until I went to send a video of my cut to my two best friends Chei and River.
“It was then I relaxed my face for a second and saw the horror that was my new found ‘micro bangs’.
“I just tried making it look intentional and a little bit punk by adding hair pomade and using my straightener to spike it up before my date.
“I’m in the queer community and everyone is telling me its an up and coming look so I’ll try to pull it off until it grows out.
“Fortunately, my date said she thought it was really cute and we have a second date coming up.”
