This is the heartwarming moment a cat-loving grandmother met her new pet after losing two of her beloved cats months before.

The pensioner, Leonora Fabiania, 80, let out a joyful squeal when her family returned home with the white moggie named Asitwas in tow on July 30 in in Bacoor, Cavite, the Philippines.

Footage shows the delighted animal lover taking the kitten into her arms, cradling and singing to it like a baby while showering it with kisses. She is heard saying: 'Here's my baby! You look just like Kenzo, are you his sibling?'

Her son, Knell, said Leonora's cat, Kenzo crossed the rainbow bridge April this year, after her other feline Kyohei died last December.

Knell said: 'We went to the market to look for cats, and we saw one kitten that looked just like Kenzo. We didn't tell our mother right away because we wanted to surprise her.

'It had been a few months since we had bought a new cat. We have another one named Kreyen, but that one likes to roam around and leave the house.'
