Right wing Hindu nationalist group Vishwa Hindu Parishad protested outside the British Embassy in Delhi on Saturday 24 September, amid communal violence in parts of the UK.

British police have arrested a total of 47 people, aged between 16 and 69, over disorder in Leicester in September involving hundreds of people. There has also been trouble in other areas.

Leicestershire Police said 25 officers and a police dog were injured in the Hindu-Muslim clashes, which have been fuelled by rumours and misinformation on social media.

One of the protesters in Delhi said their protest was against recent attacks reported against the UK’s Hindu community: “We are gathered here to protest against the incidents in Leicester , Birmingham and Smethwick.”

The organisation urged the UK government to immediately look into the matter and take stringent action against those involved.

The Delhi protest drew a major security presence, with police officers telling protesters not to move closer to the embassy. Section 144 restrictions — banning the assembly of groups of more than four people — were also imposed.

Huge security forced were present there the police officers can be seen requesting the protesters not to move futher towards embassy as it's highly sensitive. Section 144 was also imposed .
