Friends and relatives of Russians drafted for the war against Ukraine are have been handing food and drinks to them through a fence in Novosibirsk.

The footage filmed on October 1 shows civilians handing over hot tea, drinks, pastries and other food to the recruits on the other side of the fence.

Russian President Vladimir Putin has announced a partial mobilization to get more men for his invasion of Ukraine. The draft is very unpopular in the country and has lead to an exodus of thousands of young Russians leaving the country to avoid being sent to the front.

In Novosibirsk, relatives and friends of the mobilized, who were brought to a military school from several Siberian regions, pass them things, food and hot tea through the fence. Some mobilized do not go to the canteen, where they are fed "unaccustomed army food", but order delivery of sushi and pizza, buy 100 servings in the nearest pasties.
