This is the moment a hero pet cat wrestled with a snake to keep it from attacking a worker in Thailand.

The black feline named Boonlong was inside the stock room of a rice and eggs store when it found the 2ft-long serpent slithering in Nakhon Ratchasima province.

Boonlong wasted no time and pounced on the creature approaching under the desk where a worker was doing shop inventory.

CCTV footage shows the protective pet cat striking the snake with its paws and chasing it. The commotion alerted the worker, who stood up and called for help.

Worker Kaison Naja said: ‘The snake could have bitten me on the feet. I am thankful for our cat.'

Caisson stood to watch the cat tackle the snake as it was stunned for a few moments before rushing to call other workers for help.

They pulled the cat away and took the snake into a sack before it was turned over to local officials.
