This is the shocking moment American tourists clashed at the airport in the Philippines.

The two male passengers had just passed through the final security screening at Ninoy Aquino International Airport in Manila when they suddenly erupted into a brawl on December 11.

Dramatic footage shows the holidaymakers, one still wearing a backpack and a cap, grappling on the floor while alarmed passengers shouted for help.

One woman can be heard calling out as one of the men placed the other in a chokehold.

She said: 'Hey! He is choking the guy. Please help! Oh my God!'

Another traveller near the area added: 'It happened so fast. People were shouting, and nobody seemed able to stop them for a while. It was terrifying.

'I was just waiting for my flight, and then there was shouting. I thought it might get worse. They looked like they wanted to kill each other.'

Eyewitnesses reported that the duo had been arguing before the confrontation near the terminal exit.

One of the hot-headed travellers said: 'Call the police. Something's wrong with this guy. I don't know.'

Airport security guards rushed over while a police officer handcuffed the pair.

Officers confirmed that the passengers, reportedly bound for the United States, missed their flight. The incident is now under investigation.

American luggage app Bounce listed the state-run Ninoy Aquino International Airport as the world's worst airport for business class travellers in 2022. It ranked 38th out of 38 busy airports across the world.

In 2024, it was ranked '4th worst airport in Asia' for business travellers by UK website Business Financing, citing passenger reviews for international airports from the site Airline Quality.
