This puppy has been trained to pick up discarded plastic bottles on roads in central China.

Video filmed in the city of Zhengzhou in Henan Province on August 24 shows a 2-month-old border collie named Wintermelon picking up plastic bottles on the road and taking them back home to throw them into a blue bucket.

The puppy's owner Mr Xu said he runs kennels and knows some dog training skills.

After a little training, Wintermelon was able to pick up plastic bottles on command.

Xu said the dog could help recycle the plastic bottles when he took them out. It is a way to make the dog feel it is involved as well as protect the environment.
