This is the heartwarming moment a kitten trapped behind a family's newly-renovated wall was rescued.

The juvenile stray fell down the structure while looking for food on the property's roof in Bangkok, Thailand, on October 5.

It had been crying for two days until the residents realised the cat sounds were coming from inside the wooden board panels they built on their wall.

Footage shows kind residents poking a hole in the wall using a hammer.

House owner Nutcharee Saengchan said: ‘I heard the cat crying for two days, but I could not find where it was. While cleaning the garage, I heard the cat again and was certain it was trapped inside.'

Her neighbours came to help her remove the nails on the panel and pulled the kitten out.

The kitten was unhurt, but it had been starving and dehydrated from being without food.

It was fed and adopted by the kind house owner.
