A suspected meteorite fell and illuminated the night sky in eastern China.

Video filmed in the city of Hangzhou in Zhejiang Province on December 15 shows an illuminating object falling through the night sky.

According to a witness named Chen Genhua, she and her husband saw a burst of light and heard loud bangs.

The chairman of the Zhejiang Astronomical Society named Chen Zhiping said in the video: "It was preliminarily identified as a bolide. Bolide is a very common astronomical phenomenon."

"Do not pick up the remains or take them back home. It may cause burn due to the high temperature."

Fireballs appeared and fell from the sky in Hangzhou city and Jinhua City in China’s Zhejiang Province on December 15.

According to the witness Chen Genhua, she and her husband saw a burst of light and heard the bangs.

Many astrophile gather to find the fragment and observe the holes made by the meteorites.

One of the astrophile Mr.Zhang said it was unusual to witness the process of falling; it might be one case in a few years.

The falling stones caused concern about radiation in local.

Chen Zhiping, Chairman of the Zhejiang Astronomical Society, said these small objects do not have radioactive elements normally.

As he explained, it was likely to be a fireball due to the reports. The falling of fireballs is a common astronomical phenomenon. He warned that the fireball might hurt people because of its high temperature.
