A nine year old girl named Devanshi embraced jain community monkhood and decided to leave all material comforts. Devanshi is daughter of wealthy diamond merchant Dhanesh Sanghvi and wife Ami Sanghvi.
Devanshi became monk in presence of jain monk Acharya Vijay Kirtiyashsuri and hundreds of other followers of jain community.
Devanshi is two siblings and she is the elder one. According to close friends of family she had religious inclination since her childhood.
According to local reports devanshi never watched TV or movies and never went to restaurants. She till now attended 367 dikshas events. A religious procession was taken out with fanfare with camels, elephants and horses in Surat city roads
