A man miraculously survived after a 7-tonne tree fell on his moving car

A Bulgarian man in his late 30s probably had his luckiest day today after a huge 7-tonne tree fell on his car. The man was driving his British car through the picturesque Shipka Pass, which is one of the most important transport links between Northern and Southern Bulgaria, a member state of the EU. The pass is 13 km by road north of the small town of Shipka. It is crossed by a national road I-5, which runs between Ruse, on the Danube River, and Makaza border crossing to Greece. "While driving, suddenly a huge tree fell on the car," said the driver who miraculously survived. The huge pile of the tree, which according to the fire service, weighs about 7 tons, comes down on the engine of the moving car. "It literally fell 10 centimeters from the driver," said a firefighter. The British-made car was completely destroyed, and the incident blocked traffic in the area for several hours. In recent days, in the region of the Stara Planina mountain, where the Shipka pass is, there were heavy snowfalls and strong winds. "The important thing is that I'm not hurt," said the man from the destroyed car.
