An abused Doberman was saved by passing drivers after being dumped on a roadside.

Shocked locals called the emergency services when the noticed the animal in Pattaya, Thailand, on February 3.

Its hind legs had been bound with black duct tape, while it had a wound on its head from being struck by a blunt object.

Passer-by Sunthorn Nunkratok, 58, said he saw a man in his 60s park next to the forest at the scene early in the morning, but thought nothing of it at the time.

He later found the dog after hearing it whimpering from the woods, leading him to call a rescue team.

Heartbreaking footage shows the mistreated canine struggling to stand up as officers tried to carry it away.

They gave the Doberman a basin of water to drink as the pitiful animal was drooling.

Sunthorn said: 'The dog's owner was very cruel to hurt it like that. I hope it will be adopted by a kind person.'
