A family claims to own a 200-year-old magic table that spins on its own in Vietnam.

Tran Thi Minh Tuyen said the handcrafted wooden furniture was an heirloom inherited from her father.

Footage shows Tran and a relative holding the round bar table as they circle around it.

She said: ‘It rotates automatically when you touch it. My father and grandparents don't know what it is made of but we know it is a precious thing.

‘We used to serve food on it when we had guests. When my father was a child, he would put his toys on this table and stand there playing.'

Tran said that as a little girl, her father did not wonder why the object seemed to ‘understand' him. However, Tran believes she has figured it out now she is older because 'the table is magic'.

She added: ‘He stood on the table and it was spinning. He almost fell so he said he shouted to the table to stop, and it did.'
