A family makes these colourful deep-fried noodles from scratch in Vietnam.

Sau Hoai noodle shop has been serving food for three generations which they make together in their backyard in Can Tho city.

They mix rice flour with natural food colouring extracted from fruits and vegetables and cut them into thin noodles.

Footage shows a green thin pancake of rice noodles steaming on a pan before it was taken to dry on weaved bamboo.

The dry sheet was cut into strips and placed in boiling oil until crispy before being topped with eggs, nuts, meat, herbs, and sauces.

Local Tran Nguyen Khan said: ‘The final dish is like a pizza. Customers can watch how the family cooks the food and try doing it themselves. It's not easy doing it perfectly, but it's a popular activity for tourists.

‘The red colour is from gac fruit, the green is from pandan leaves, while the white is the natural rice colour.'
