Buildings were damaged during a Women's Day rally in Mexico.

Video shows glass entrances shattered and walls graffitied with messages and symbols at a mall in Monterrey city in Nuevo Leon state amid protests on International Women's Day on March 8.

The global holiday aims to raise awareness about gender equality, women's rights, and violence against women.

Mexico is among the deadliest countries in the world for women. An Associated Press report said that an average of 10 women are killed in the country every day.

INEGI, an autonomous stastics agency of the Mexican government, reported in 2022 that out of 50 million women aged over 15, more than 70% have experienced some form of violence.
