Massive snow chunks fell off a building’s roof in central China.

CCTV footage from a resident named Liu’s house in the city of Luoyang in Henan Province on March 16 shows snow crashing onto a road from the roof of a building.

The scene was caused by the thick snow accumulating in a short period of time and the high temperature of the roof.

According to Chen Hongxia, a senior engineer at the Luoyang Meteorological Bureau, the rainy and snowy weather in Luoyang was mainly caused by the joint influence of high-altitude southwestern warm and humid air currents and ground-level eastern cold air.

当地居民刘先生家里的监控，记录了下雪当天，由于短时间内积雪太厚，且屋顶温度较高，大量的积雪如“雪崩”般砸向了院内，所幸没有对人造成伤害。刘先生介绍，这是他第一次遇到三月下这么大的雪。
洛阳市气象局高级工程师陈红霞介绍，此次洛阳出现雨雪天气过程，主要是受高空西南暖湿气流和地面东路冷空气的共同影响，但因大部分地区尤其城市区地表温度较高，雪从高空降落后，还未到地面就已变成雨，因此较难出现积雪。视频由刘先生提供。
