Locals showed off their wacky hairstyles at a barber contest in Thailand yesterday.

Hairdressers and salon owners gathered at the Zeer Rangsit shopping centre in Pathum Thani province to display their hair styling skills in the 'Barber and Salon Connect 2023' competition on March 29.

The hairdressers snipped, trimmed, shaved, and dyed their models' hair, creating trendy hairdos that showcased their artistry. After finishing their work, the contestants strutted down a runway with their clients for judging.

The barbers themselves wore striking and unusual coiffures - from punk-style crimson liberty spikes, grey-dyed buzz cuts with black cross highlights, and jelly roll pompadours coloured bright orange.

An exhibit was also held to demonstrate how to use different styling products like electric hair trimmers and dyes to make elaborate hair decorations such as hair tattoos and dreadlocks with highlights.

A local band performed to entertain fair-goers, before the winners were announced for the event's culmination.
