Summer rains lashed many parts of Tamilnadu due to which sudden flash floods occurred in a hilly river in Valparai area. Unaware of the floods many people were rejoicing by taking bath in the river to beat the summer heat. These floods hit the area where people were bathing and unknowing of how to save their lives they climbed on a rock like structure that was in the centre of the river.
The water level started to increase gradually and then the people in the banks of the river called the fire team to rescue the people who were strangled in the middle of the river. They rushed to the spot and they rescued the people by tying ropes on either sides of the banks and making them cross the strong currents of water with the help of the rope. Nearby people appreciated the efforts made by the fire and rescue team in saving the lives of the people.
