Six stray dogs rescued from the streets of Thailand embarked on an exciting journey to the United States to find their 'forever homes'.

The pooches Thor, Teresla, Depop, Dados, Emeg, and Masterart - rescued by non-profit Soi Dog Foundation - boarded a private plane chartered by animal charity Wings of Rescue, which flies at-risk rescue animals from disaster areas or overcrowded shelters.

The six were flown to Chicago before being handed over to another organisation called Alive Rescue, which is seeking new fur parents for the loveable canines.

Wings of Rescue said: 'Upon landing, the jet-setting six were met at the airfield by an excited team from our brand-new partner rescue Alive Rescue. With their help, these dogs now have the chance to find the loving homes they deserve.

'When it comes to the logistics of animal rescue, it really does take a village, and we're grateful to everyone who made the flight possible for these deserving dogs.

'We are so happy we could help these dogs to new lives!'
