A rescue team surveyed a village submerged by flood in central Thailand.

Officers were deployed to Sing Buri province where homes were left underwater following a flood barrier collapse this week.

Footage shows the team monitoring water levels as they rode a boat through waterlogged streets today, November 14.

The body of a missing 95-year-old resident was later found floating face-down in the seven-foot-deep deluge near the Wat Bot community.

A water barrier near Wat Prasat collapsed on November 12 at 4.30pm due to rising water levels from the Chao Phraya River.

In response, the In Buri Subdistrict Administrative Organisation constructed a new barrier of crushed rock under the bridge crossing the river.

The barrier extended 0.62 mile (1 kilometre) and was positioned around 0.62 mile (1 kilometre) from the previous line to prevent further flooding.

Thailand's Geo-Informatics and Space Technology Development Agency said some 813,817 rai (1,300 square kilometres) of land has been submerged in central Thailand.

Locals criticised the government's water management efforts as bungling officials battled to address the flooding.

Deputy Prime Minister Thamanat Prompao said the Royal Irrigation Department has been ordered to accelerate flood drainage across Suphan Buri, Sing Buri, Chainat, Ang Thong, and Uthai Thani provinces to help farmers access their paddies.
